We have published extensively in top-tier venues, covering topics ranging from approximate similarity search systems such as <strong>APOTHEOSIS<\/strong> or malware analysis tools such as <strong>MALVADA<\/strong>, to the detection of algorithmically generated domains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It\u2019s All About the Team<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>However, papers and code are just the visible result of something much more important: <strong>the people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the entire team. <a href=\"https:\/\/reversea.me\/index.php\/people\/\">To the (former and current) PhD students, researchers, and collaborators of our team<\/a>: thank you. Your sleepless nights, your resilience when experiments failed, and your creativity in solving complex problems are the driving force behind this lab. <strong>This year&#8217;s success belongs entirely to your hard work and dedication<\/strong> <em>&#8212; thx folks <\/em>\u2764\ufe0f<em>!<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Awards and Recognition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, our collective effort was recognized not just through publications, but through several awards that highlight the quality and impact of our work. I am incredibly proud to announce the following honors received by our team members in 2025:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A &#8220;Grand Slam&#8221; at DFRWS 2025:<\/strong> We had an exceptional run at the Digital Forensics Research Workshop this year, both academically and competitively:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Best Student Paper (DFRWS USA):<\/strong> A massive congratulations to <strong>Daniel Huici<\/strong> for this outstanding recognition for his work on &#8220;An Extensible and Scalable System for Hash Lookup and Approximate Similarity Search&#8221; (you can <a href=\"https:\/\/reversea.me\/index.php\/scalable-similarity-detection-in-digital-forensics-meet-apotheosis\/\">read more here<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The &#8220;Jimmy Three Pockets&#8221; World Tour:<\/strong> Our competitive team, &#8220;Jimmy Three Pockets,&#8221; in a joint effort with our colleagues from <strong>FKIE<\/strong>, proved its skills globally. We secured the <strong>2nd Prize at the DFRWS USA Rodeo<\/strong> (Daniel Huici and myself), and later claimed the <strong>1st Prize at the DFRWS APAC Rodeo<\/strong> (only me this time).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RENIC Best PhD Thesis Award:<\/strong> Congratulations to <strong>Daniel Uroz<\/strong> for receiving the award for the Best Doctoral Thesis from the Spanish Network of Excellence in Cybersecurity research (RENIC). <a href=\"https:\/\/renic.es\/ganadores-de-la-vii-edicion-de-los-premios-renic-en-ciberseguridad-a-la-mejora-tesis-doctoral-y-al-mejor-tfm\/\">More details here<\/a> (in Spanish), and the <a href=\"https:\/\/webdiis.unizar.es\/~ricardo\/files\/PhDs\/DUroz-PhD-Thesis.pdf\">full PhD thesis here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>&#8220;Tercer Milenio&#8221; Research Award (Runner-up):<\/strong> We were honored with the <em>Acc\u00e9sit<\/em> (Special Mention) in this prestigious regional research competition. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldo.es\/noticias\/aragon\/2025\/11\/18\/ganadores-premios-tercer-milenio-2025-1871191.html\">More details here<\/a> (in Spanish).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cybersecurity Final Degree Projects Contest (Runner-up):<\/strong> Congratulations to <strong>Alain Villagrasa-Labrador<\/strong> for this recognition for the high quality of his work with an <em>Acc\u00e9sit<\/em> in this national competition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1st Prize at &#8220;Cyber Arena&#8221; Hackathon:<\/strong> A shout-out to the team (<strong>Razvan Raducu<\/strong>, <strong>Daniel Huici<\/strong>, and <strong>Alain Villagrasa-Labrador<\/strong>) for demonstrating practical skills and taking home the top prize at the EUPT Hackathon. <a href=\"https:\/\/araintel.com\/noticias\/la-eupt-e-incibe-cierran-su-proyecto-estrategico-de-ciberseguridad-en-areas-escasamente-pobladas-con-una-gala-de-premiacion-lo-importante-es-aprender-por-el-camino-aunque-solo-sea-un-comando-nuevo\/\">More details here<\/a> (in Spanish).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Araintel Award 2025:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/araintel.com\/noticias\/rme-disco-premio-araintel-2025\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/araintel.com\/noticias\/rme-disco-premio-araintel-2025\/\">The <strong>RME-DisCo<\/strong> group was honored for its work in cybersecurity dissemination<\/a>. This award comes from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/araintel.com\/\">Araintel<\/a><\/strong>, a specialized agency in intelligence, defense, and hacking, whose motto <em>&#8220;Hacking From Arag\u00f3n&#8221;<\/em> resonates deeply with our roots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These awards are a validation of our &#8220;quality over quantity&#8221; approach and our commitment to reproducible science, seen in our efforts to release open-source tools and datasets.
